Pure Cardio today. This was the first day that my legs gave out before my lungs did. I can't decide if its a good thing or a bad thing... I guess I just need to get better with my recovery and drink my protein stuff, stretch, and roll out on my little foam roller. Basically do the stuff that I tell my patients to do. Other than that, nothing exciting to report. Keep calm and carry on.
Day 9 DONE.

Ouchkabibble.
Powerjumps.
You kill my knees.
You make me feel like I'm trying to run a marathon on half a lung. A smoker's lung.
That may have been a bit of an overexaggeration.
Nevermind, it wasn't.
I mean really, who can do these without looking like a ruh-tard?
He can't.
You know who can?
Shaun T "I talk in third person and take my shirt off halfway through my videos" can!
Geez. Get your rock hard abs and GET. OUT.
Day 8- check.

I swear I've done it!
This week has been INSANE, and not just because of the workouts. On Monday, my (sort of) faithful little Kia finally bit the dust. My radiator decided it didn't feel like going through another winter, and it wanted to retire. The car literally isn't worth the price of another radiator so, for now at least, I'm carless. So long, Herbert. It's been real. I'm looking at SUVs right now, and hopefully I'll get a nice used car soon!
On Monday I skipped the workout because of all the craziness, which meant Tuesday was a double! I really don't want to get into that habit so hopefully this is a one-time thing. I did Pure Cardio first at around noon, and then did the Plyometric Cardio Circuit sometime around 5. Pure Cardio was pure hell. There's about a gallon of sweat in my living room carpet right now because of it, which I know is incredibly sexy. I try.
After a few hours of rest, the cardio circuit wasn't so bad surprisingly! My quads felt fine, and even my butt held up through the workout. Oh yeah, oh yeah!. Today was a rest day, thank sweet baby Jesus. I'm really feeling yesterday, plus today at work was kind of stressful.
Back to it tomorrow!

Day 3
Day 3 is done! Today was Cardio Power and Resistance.. Not as much jumping around as yesterday, which my ass really appreciated. You know when your hamstrings/glutes are so sore that it hurts to sit on the toilet? Yeah... about that. Next Fit Test, I'm definitely stretching. Anyways, today was a 40 minute workout, and my average HR was 155.
I have nothing funny and/or witty to say, because LSU is playing Alabama right now.
The End.

Note to self: stretch after fit test.
Day 2 of 60 is done! Today was the Plyometric Circuit workout. The beginning was the warmup, where "Shaun T" (the instructor) spoke in third person and showed off his 24 pack of rock hard abs. No big deal.

"Shaun T is so INSAAANE!"
The warmup lasted about 10 minutes, and then the video takes you through some stretches. I really needed these, because I skipped the cool down after the fit test yesterday. Oopsies.
After the stretching, the workout only lasted about 25 minutes, which was nice. Lots of jumping around, and my heart rate was super high the whole time. I wear one of the Nike+ HR monitors, which, after i plugged it into my computer, gave me a graph of my HR during the workout. If I could ever figure out how in the world to import it into this blog I'll share. I like graphs... I'm a nerd like that. My average HR was 161 though, and the workout was 40 minutes long including the stretching and cool down.
Hmm.... I think that's all I have to say tonight.
2 days down, 58 to go!

Possible Public Humiliation May Follow.
Alrighty, here's the deal. About a month ago, I started the Insanity workout program. It went great: I felt like I was gaining muscle, losing some weight, and just getting fitter in general. This lasted, oh, about three weeks. And then.. I quit. I'll admit it. I missed a couple workouts, couldn't make them up, and then I just stopped doing them all together. It was REALLY lame.
BUT. I'm starting again! And this time, I'm going to be blogging about it. Because I know my life is really, really interesting and everyone wants to read about it... Duh. No, but honestly, I really want some accountability. I'm betting that if I make this whole thing public, maybe the fact that someone may read it will drive me to not be such a lazy ass and follow through with the whole program.
So I'm starting today. The first day of this workout is the fit test, where you do all these crazy plyo-like exercises and record your numbers to seehow bad you suck at first how much you improve over the course of the 60 days. The last time I started it, it was pretty hard: plyometric exercises are not my friend anymore. I've also recorded my weight/body fat to see if I can improve that as well. So, since I know you're all dying to know, here are my numbers from Fit Test Day 1. These exercises are performed for 1 minute, and you try to get the maximum number of reps before you fall flat on your face, dying for enriched oxygen through a tube. Oh wait, maybe that's just me..
-switch kicks- 51
-power jacks-47
-power knees- 105
-power jumps- 40
-globe jumps- 10
-suicide jumps (kill me. how ironic.)- 22
-push up jacks- 19
-low plank oblique- 52
Aaaaaand there it is, folks. Day 1 of 60 was a success! Only 59 more to go!
PS: I'm still new to the whole blogging thing. Maybe my next posts will be a little more exciting.... or maybe not.
